About
The Finance Monk
Money is noisy. Everyone has a course to sell, a hack to push, a reason you should feel behind. The Finance Monk is the opposite: quiet, practical tools and plain-talk guides that help you handle your money without the drama. The principle is simple — calm over hype, clarity over jargon. The tools are free and ask for nothing.
Who’s behind it
The Finance Monk is written and edited by Sachin Kakrate, co-founder of Mobirapid — a technology-driven re-commerce platform that makes quality refurbished phones and laptops affordable, with a focus on buyers in India’s smaller cities. He started The Finance Monk out of a genuine interest in personal finance — and a frustration with how noisy, salesy, and jargon-filled most money advice is.
Sachin is a builder and finance enthusiast, not a licensed financial advisor — which is exactly why everything here is practical and plain-spoken, and always paired with a clear reminder to confirm big decisions with a qualified professional. It’s a small, real operation, not a faceless content mill: if you spot something wrong or unclear, you can reach him directly at sachin@thefinancemonk.com.
Our editorial standards
How we keep the tools and guides reliable:
- Sourced where it counts. Tax figures and rules reference primary sources (the IRS and official agencies), and we cite reputable references in our guides.
- Human-edited. Every guide is reviewed and edited for accuracy and clarity before publishing — we don’t publish unedited, mass-produced content.
- Kept current. Money figures change; we update guides and tools (for example, tax tables are refreshed each year) and date them so you know how fresh they are.
- Useful over clickbait. We’d rather answer your question well than chase a headline.
- Corrections welcome. Tell us if something’s off and we’ll fix it quickly.
How we make money
So there’s no mystery: the site is supported by advertising and by affiliate links — if you click certain links and sign up for a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend; we only mention tools we think are genuinely useful, and ad content from third parties isn’t an endorsement. See our full disclosure.
Not professional advice
Everything here is general information and educational tools — not financial, tax, or legal advice, and not a recommendation for your specific situation. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional. See our disclaimer and privacy policy.
